The Queen City Ex is back and looking to build on a record-setting last year.
The annual exhibition will run from August 3 to 7 at the REAL District, with five days of entertainment and fun for all ages.
The entertainment will feature music, the fair and food, a rodeo, a soccer match, and plenty more for people to check out.
CEO for REAL Tim Reid said he is excited to know they will deliver a fair this year.
“I am so excited to get to better times and more normal times. We are all excited to get together to see each other’s smiles and to share some moments and memories together,” he said. “It is about the smiles for me and just such an incredible and encompassing event; it doesn’t matter what age you are, there is something at the fair for everybody.”
On the music side, Jason Derulo will be the big attraction on the stage. Other performances include Street Heart, Head Pins, Tim Hicks, Tenille Arts, Teybey, and the Regina Symphony Orchestra will wrap up the exhibition with performance and fireworks.
Reid added that along with Deruole and the Orchestra performances, the friendly match between Sunderland AFC and Toronto FC at Mosaic Stadium is a highlight for him.
When people aren’t enjoying music, the midday and kiddieland are back will almost 50 rides with some new food for people to try out. The Pile of Bones Rodeo will also return for two nights.
REAL will also be partnering with the Regina Food Bank as the charity of choice for this year’s exhibition.
Reid said that on Wednesday’s exhibition’s opening day, all gate admissions will be five dollars when purchased online in advance.
“As an organization that is 137 years old, we’ve always been trying to do the right thing for our community. We are owned by the City of Regina, which means that we are owned by the community. We are a not-for-profit organization. We recognize that things ate a little tough right now, and we don’t anticipate by August they are going to be any easier.”
“Having a five-dollar day, by announcing that our food bank is our charitable partner, I think it is about our social responsibility and being a good neighbour.”
