North Battleford RCMP say, with assistance from the Saskatchewan Crime Reduction Team, they pulled over a vehicle on Friday and the resulting search allegedly turned up five kilograms of cocaine.
The RCMP say five kilos equates to approximately 50,000 doses and law enforcement officials stress this is extremely significant to North Battleford and surrounding communities because it means the drugs have been taken off the streets.
Staff Sergeant Jason Teniuk, acting North Battleford Detachment Commander says, “Consider 50,000 doses of drugs entering a community of 14,000 people. It’s a reminder of how significant the impact of one drug seizure can be on a community.”
No charges have been laid at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
