The Saskatchewan government has outlined new wildlife regulations for hunters with mobility problems.
The new legislation provides greater access and less red tape for hunters with mobility impairments.
Environment minister Warren Kaeding says hunters will be able to use new technologies in motorized mobility equipment without the requirement of obtaining a permit to use the equipment.
Last year, hunters with physical disabilities were able to use a motorized wheelchair, but permits were still needed.
Changes were made to ensure fairness.
Other amendments will prohibit the feeding of dangerous animals but does not apply to the use of bait for hunting or trapping, conducting farming activities or operating landfills.
Other amendments will authorize the disposal of inedible or diseased wildlife specimens to simplify the removal of carcasses unfit for human consumption, including specimens infected with chronic wasting disease.
