Talk about a “neat” achievement! Lumsden’s very own Last Mountain Distillery just proved that Saskatchewan grain truly is world-class. At the recent Whisky Explorer Awards, this local powerhouse didn’t just win—they completely dominated the “Best Canadian Whisky (Aged 6-10 Years)” category, taking home gold, silver, AND bronze!
This rare “clean sweep” saw their Baldur’s whisky line beat out massive national brands with centuries of history. What started in a two-car garage back in 2010 has officially matured into a national leader.
The secret to their success? A true grain-to-glass philosophy. By sourcing nearly all their grain from Saskatchewan farmers, they’ve turned our local agriculture into an award-winning sipping whisky.
Whether you’re a long-time fan or a curious newcomer, there’s never been a better time to toast to our local talent. Just act fast… with small-batch releases ranging from only 130 to 300 bottles, these medal-winners won’t stay on the shelves for long!
Cheers to the Last Mountain team for putting Lumsden on the global spirits map!
