The province is hitting pause when it comes to the AstraZeneca vaccine and those under the age of 55.
The move comes after updated guidelines from the National Advisory Committee on Immunization on the use of AstraZeneca after concerns over blood clots were raised.
More than 15,000 doses of AstraZeneca were given at a drive-thru clinic earlier this month, but it was those 58 or older/
The province says some under 55 including healthcare workers and vaccinators did get an AstraZeneca vaccine, but no thrombosis-like adverse events have been reported at this time.
46,600 AstraZeneca doses from the United States are expected in Saskatchewan this week.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority said it is looking at the potential impact of this announcement on its vaccine roll-out plan and will provide an update sometime this week.
