The preliminary water security agency spring outlook shows most of southern Saskatchewan with below normal snowmelt runoff potential.
The central areas, with above normal snowpack, can expect an above normal snowmelt, with near normal conditions for the far north.
No flooding is expected.
Agriculture minister David Marit says parts of western Saskatchewan need more moisture.
Much of the southern areas of Saskatchewan had very dry conditions throught last summer and into fall.
The exception is an area just east of Moose Jaw through Weyburn, Indian Head and Regina, where wetter fall conditions and near normal snowfall have projected a near normal snowmelt.
The report says without additional snowfall, surface water supply issues are likely to occur in southwest Saskatchewan in 2023.
The runoff outlook will be updated next month.
