Young Regina man arrested after being chased by police while in a stolen vehicle

A local 18-year-old is facing a charge of Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000 after police investigated a suspicious vehicle last night.
Just after midnight last night, police on patrol noted a grey Chevrolet Cruze traveling at high speed in the area of 10th Avenue and Elphinstone.

They attempted to follow the vehicle but it sped away in spite of poor road conditions.

A Canine team officer spotted the Cruze stopped on Regina Avenue, near Albert Street.
Two people ran from the vehicle, so the Canine officer used his Police Service dog to track the driver.
As a result, 18-year-old Deveren Ponace, of Regina, is charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000.
Ponace was released on an undertaking to make his first court appearance on this charge in Provincial Court on February 21.
