Man arrested without incident after alleged assault near Langenburg

Carlyle RCMP have located and arrested a man they considered to be armed and dangerous.

Esterhazy RCMP early Tuesday morning responded to an assault at a residence north of Langenburg.

The suspect was said to have stolen a vehicle from the area following the assault.

Aaron Kenneth Olney, 37, was arrested without incident in the Carlyle area and taken into custody without incident Wednesday afternoon.

Olney is charged with assault with a weapon, and possession of a firearm while prohibited, among other charges.

He’s scheduled to appear in Yorkton Provincial Court Thursday on the charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
