Agriculture minister David Marit is promoting Saskatchewan farm trade at the Tri-National Agricultural Accord Tuesday and Wednesday in Mexico.
The Saskatchewan delegation also includes deputy agriculture minister Rick Burton.
He says Mexico is an important market for Saskatchewan farmers.
He says the meeting will involve U.S., Canadian and Mexican officials.
The Saskatchewan delegation will also meet with several companies at the provincial trade office in Mexico City.
Several Canadian provinces and U.S. states are also attending the conference in Mexico.
Saskatchewan will host the Tri-National agriculture accord next year.
Several meetings will also be held in Guadalajara to promote Saskatchewan as a top supplier of high-quality cattle genetics.
Mexico was Saskatchewan’s fifth largest export market last year with 993 million dollars of sales, most of which were agrifood produce at 959 million.
