Regina man arrested for string of Break and Enters and thefts

After a lengthy investigation into numerous break and enter and theft cases, 48-year-old Jason Gregory Bolton of Regina has been arrested and connected to several break and enter and theft crimes throughout this year.

Bolton was arrested on October 5th when he and 34-year-old Vanessa Jean Richard of Regina were found passed out in a white Silverado in a 2100 block of Rae Street. Bolton did try to turn on the truck and flee once he was woken by police but he failed and was arrested without further incident. Richard was arrested at the same time.

The Silverado they were in was a company vehicle that was reported stolen on October 3.

During the search of this arrest, Police found a machete and a set of keys that did not belong to the driver.

Bolton is also believed to be involved in the following criminal activities:

  • On June 5, Police responded to a report of an unconscious man in a truck on the 3900 block of Rochdale Boulevard. When police arrived, they activated emergency equipment but the truck drove away at high speed out of the city and police were not able to catch the driver.
  • On May 23, Police were dispatched to a business on the 100 block of 6th Avenue for a report of a break and enter and theft of a boom-forklift heavy vehicle.
  • On April 25, the owner of a business on the 2400 block of 12th Avenue called in the theft of a 2019 Ford F250 which operated as a work vehicle. The vehicle’s GPS system was key to the recovery of the vehicle. When the vehicle was found and it contained evidence believed to belong to the suspect.

Bolton is facing several charges including possession of property (Silverado 3500) obtained by crime over $5000, three charges of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, carrying a concealed weapon, two charges of break, enter, and commit theft, theft of property over $5000, theft of motor vehicle, dangerous operation on conveyance, possession of property (Ford F250) obtained by crime over $5000.

Bolton made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on October 6, 2022.

Richard is facing two possession of property charges, one is obtained by crime over $5000 and the other is obtained by crime under $5000.

She was released on an undertaking to appear in Provincial Court on these charges in December 5, 2022.
