A Regina teen has been charged with uttering threats after an investigation was launched by the Lethbridge, Alberta police about a possible school shooting.
Interpol intercepted a Snapchat message with two select fire, automatic guns and a vague threat about a school shooting.
The threat was originally thought to be in Alberta but further investigation pointed to Regina, with the threat against staff and students at a Regina high school.
The RPS technical crimes unit received permission from internet search engines and identified the sender – a 15-year-old girl.
She wasn’t in possession of any firearms, but the girl was arrested at her home before 9 a.m. yesterday.
She appeared in provincial court today.
