A man tried to take things from vehicles and a garage in the north end of the city early Thursday morning but was caught by Regina city police.
They went to a call at about 3 a.m. in the 4800 block of Anthony Place , where a man had used a stolen garage door opener he found in a truck to get into the garage and started taking things.
A resident confronted the man, who relinquished the items and fled.
Then a short while later as police were attending to the first theft attempt, another call came in a short distance later.
Police had noticed vehicle break-ins nearby and arrested a 44-year-old man, Darryl Desjarlais, breaking into a car on Solie Crescent.
The stolen property – including a full set of golf clubs – was returned.
He was charged him with theft, break and enter with intent and possession of property obtained by crime and is making his first appearance in provincial court today.
