A 39-year-old man faces multiple charges after police seized a large cache of weapons at a Regina home.
On July 1st, police were dispatched to 3rd Avenue and Elizabeth Crescent for the report of a firearms offence. Upon arrival, police found a 20-year-old man with a firearm.
An investigation into the firearm led to the 39-year-old being arrested for failing to report his firearm lost and/or stolen.
A search of his home led to police seizing:
- 14 long guns;
- Three handguns;
- Crossbow;
- Thousands of rounds of ammunition;
- Explosive materials, including Tannerite and smoke grenades; and
- Over-capacity magazines for handguns and long guns
As a result of the search, thirty-nine-year-old Ryan Harold Paus of Regina, is charged with:
- 3x Careless Storage of Firearm;
- 3x Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Weapon;
- Weapons Trafficking;
- Possession of a Restricted Firearm With Ammunition;
- 2x Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm;
- Lost/Stolen Firearm Not Reported.
Paus made his first court appearance in Provincial Court on Friday.
