A woman who disappeared from the Saskatoon area with her young son, was found safe and sound in a rental suite just outside of Portland Oregon.
Dawn Walker was in a courtroom in the US, today (Monday) facing two charges after she illegally crossed into the U.S. with her 7-year-old son at some point over the last two weeks.
Investigators say the 48-year-old did cross into Montana through Alberta at a border crossing where she used what the US is calling illegal documentation.
Walker is also facing charges north of the border for child abduction in contravention with a custody order and public mischief.
Saskatoon Police Deputy Chief Randy Huisman says they can’t say if someone did indeed assist Walker or what day she crossed into the United States.
The seven year old boy was picked up by a legal guardian in Oregon, and brought back home to Saskatchewan.
