Some Thursday thunderstorms in the province produced a tornado, some large hail and some wild wind gusts.
The tornado was observed near the Witcheken/Big River First Nation at about 6:30 p.m. and has been given the preliminary rating of EF-0 by Environment and Climate Change Canada. Anyone with any photographic evidence of damage or or the storm itself is encouraged to contact Environment and Climate Change Canada.
Hail stones were golf ball sized in Big River, toonie sized in Candle Lake and dime sized in Melville.
Wind gusts got up to 94 km/h in Coronach, 93 km/h in Milestone and 85 in Yellow Grass.
There were also record high temperatures for the day in Coronach (38.6), Assiniboia (37.7), Lucky Lake (36.7) and Rockglen (37.5).
