Sask. residents aren’t looking for more COVID information

Over half of Saskatchewan residents do not want to see more frequent COVID-19 updates and easier access to information.

Many provinces, including Saskatchewan, have left it up to residents to evaluate their own risk with health restrictions removed. For many, a lack of data for accurate risk assessment is a sticking point of current provincial COVID-19 management.

Half (47%) say they lack COVID-19 data, whether it be irregular updates or a lack of testing, which is frustrating. Nearly as many, however, disagree (44%) according to data from the Angus Reid Institute.

Those in Saskatchewan (57%) don’t find the lack of COVID-19 data frustrating, with 37 per cent saying they do.

Despite no more appetite for COVID information, only 44 per cent of Saskatchewan residents believe that Premier Scott Moe has done a very good/good job of handling the COVID-19 pandemic. In comparison, 37 per cent believe he has done a very bad/bad job.

For Moe, that number is up from January of this year when under 40 per cent thought he was doing a ‘good job’; however, it is far off from August of last year when over 65 per cent thought the Premier was doing a good job.
