Saskatchewan’s AA1 credit rating has been affirmed by Moody’s Investors.
Saskatchewan finance minister Donna Harpauer said in a media release that the province’s financial outlook has improved. significantly, as was highlighted in their year-end financials for the 2021-22 year.
The province has the second highest credit rating among Canadian provinces when all three major ratings agencies are considered.
In 2021, Moody’s downgraded the province from AAA to AA1, the second highest rating, after the provincial budget. Fitch’s latest ratings from June have Saskatchewan at AA, S&P’s ratings are at AA, and DBRS Morningstar’s most recent rating in 2021 has Saskatchewan at AA (low).
