Hot off his 15th Nathan’s Hotdog eating championship – Joey Chestnut has his sights set on the mini donut crown at this year’s Queen City Exhibition.
If you think you have what it takes – you can attempt to best Chestnut in the big event August 5th, as part of a fundraiser for the Regina Foodbank.
Community leaders are set to raise money in advance of the competition – culminating in a mini donut smackdown.
Chestnut currently holds the world record for eating mini donuts – devouring 220 of them in just under eight minutes.
Tim Reid, President and CEO of REAL – highlighted the importance of the foodbank right now – and just how amazing it was that the QCX will be hosting Chestnut.
“The Regina Food Bank is an incredible organization in our city doing important work,” Reid said. “With everything happening in the world, the rising cost of everything from food to fuel, access to quality food matters more than ever to those in need. This competition is a fun way our community can support those who need the foodbank right now.”
Funds raised from the competition will support access to healthy food for over 12,500 Food Bank users from across Regina.
Donors and supports can visit www.reginafoodbank.ca to donate in support of the competitors reaching their pledge goal.
