With the price of fuels like diesel and gasoline hitting new highs, we are seeing a big spike in fuel thefts in Saskatchewan.

Numbers from the Saskatchewan RCMP show an almost 65 percent jump in thefts of fuel, compared to the first six months of last year.

More than 73 percent of the thefts are happening at the gas stations themselves, but there are numerous cases of thefts from the farmyard, or siphoning fuel in some areas as well.

The RCMP are asking anyone who has fuel stolen from them, to report it to the nearest RCMP detachment.
