The CFL is proposing a new collective bargaining agreement to the CFL Players’ Association.
Rider’s player rep kicker Brett Lauther says today’s (Tuesday) practice was a sign of good faith on the player’s behalf.
“Missing more time and games isn’t good for anybody in this league and we know that. At the end of the day if we can come out for a day or two until they figure it out that’s fine.” The veteran kicker confirms the Canadian Ratio and issues surrounding the revenue sharing model are two big concerns.
Lauther admits that in a player’s union you’re not going to please everyone but promised they’re still united. ” Some media like to spread false narratives for clicks and likes, I can tell you right now we are on the same page and have been updating out members during this whole process,” Lauther said. “We do a good job of giving our guys the correct information so they’re not reading something from TSN because those guys work on behalf of the CFL, you can read between the lines!”
The 31-year-old Nova Scotian has a message for Rider Nation; ” At the end of the day it sucks for everyone and the fans are caught in the cross fire, we know we have the best fans. I’m not going to lie, it’s not good but we hopefully can get it worked out soon and get a longer deal in place because this is getting tiresome.”
The Riders are scheduled to be on the practice field tomorrow at 9 am in Saskatoon.
