Rain and Wind Should Ease Today

Wet and windy.

That’s what lies ahead as parts of Saskatchewan are under a “Rainfall Warning” from Environment Canada.

A weather front coming up from the US is bringing us steady rain, and some strong wind gusts up to 81 kilometres an hour at Regina International Airport.

Environment Canada’s Brad Vrolijk says the rain will ease off in Regina later today.  “We do have a renewed little area of thunderstorms developing over the south east corner of the province which will ease over towards Regina and Estevan later today.”

The good news is the rain didn’t come down as hard as expected.  There are some big puddles to contend with in the City of Regina, but the underpasses and other low lying streets seem to be in good shape for the drive to work this morning.

It will dry out a little over the weekend, as Sunday and Monday are forecast to have more sun, fewer clouds, and temperatures close to seasonal average, which is 19 degrees.
