Punnichy RCMP arrested two Alberta men after finding one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine.
RCMP made the arrests on May 1 after they received a report of a suspicious vehicle on a property on Highway #15, near Raymore.
The vehicle drove away, but officers located it in the town of Quinton. Police were able to stop the vehicle once a second police vehicle blocked its path.
The driver was arrested, with the sole passenger of the vehicle fleeing on foot. He was located and arrested two hours later at a business in Raymore after a tip was received from the public.
The man had dropped a bag while running from the police. In the bag, one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine was found. A backpack was also left at the property on Highway #15. As a result of searches of the two bags, officers located and seized illegal cigarettes, knives, batons, approximately 96 OxyContin pills and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
The two men have been remanded into custody until their next court appearance in Punnichy on May 10.
