Last week provided a reminder that winter is not quite over in the prairies.

A series of blizzards rocked the southeast corner of the province, including more snow on Sunday.

Dave Carlsen from Environment Canada says the southeast region saw between 7-12 cm of snow on Sunday, adding an extra layer of white after a busy week of snowfall.

Snow is expected once again on Tuesday in the eastern section of the province. Carlsen noted the area between Highway #1 and Highway #16 could see possibly 5 cm of snow, while other sections could see a smaller amount.

The current weather front is clearing out of the province at a slow pace noted Carlsen, he said the slow moving front along with the addition of precipitation have created the recent snowfall activity in the area.

Wet weather could be returning to the eastern section of the province for the weekend. Carlsen noted at this point it’s difficult to tell if the incoming precipitation will be rain or snow.

Currently the forecast is showing the Regina will be receiving rain on Friday with a high of +4.
