Sask farmers encouraged to recycle used oil, antifreeze and containers

Saskatchewan farmers are being encouraged to recycle their used oil and anti-freeze.

The executive director of the Saskatchewan Association for Resource Recovery, Ethan Richardson says his corporation has 37 locations across the province for farmers to drop off their used oil or antifreeze and containers.

The Resource Recovery Association recycles used motor oil, filters, containers and anti-freeze.

Richardson says recycled oil, antifreeze and containers are turned into lubricating oil and plastic materials.

He says the oil recycling program reduces greenhouse gases equal to taking 8 thousand cars off the road every year.
