Regina Police forced to use Taser in arrest

Regina Police were forced to use a Taser last night to handle an arrest.

At 11:30 pm, police received a call of an incident occurring at a residence on Devonshire Drive with an intoxicated man attempting to assault other members of the household.

Attempts to take the man in peacefully were unsuccessful as he grabbed a hammer. After being asked, the man refused to put the hammer down.

Police then deployed the Taser to gain control of the man safely, the man suffered minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
