Canada in Group “F” for World Cup

The draw is complete, and we now know which teams Canada will be playing in the early stages of the World Cup of Soccer this fall.

Canada was the last team drawn, and ended up in Group “F”, with Croatia, Morocco and Belgium.

Group “B” features some interesting teams, England, Iran, the USA, and one of Scotland, Ukraine or Wales.  Those teams are in a playoff for the final spots.

Canada clinched its berth in the World Cup last week, with a decisive win over Jamaica.  Its the first time a side from Canada will play in the World Cup since 1986.

The World Cup is being held in Qatar, and was moved to the fall because of the oppressive heat in Qatar in Summer.
