Regina and Saskatoon throwing in bid to host 2023 World Juniors

For the first time in 13 years, the Cities of Regina and Saskatoon could be hosting the World Junior Hockey Championships.

City councils from Regina and Saskatoon are being asked to chip in on a bid for the cities to host the 2023 World Junior Hockey Championships.

The City of Regina announced that they would be holding a special meeting to consider the bid and hear from any delegates regarding the matter.

Regina last held the World Juniors with Saskatoon in 2010, marking the first time the Queen City played host to the event

The bid comes after the IIHF stripped Russia from hosting the event due to the invasion of Ukraine.

The special council meeting is scheduled to happen this Friday at 8:30 a.m.
