Saskatchewan RCMP’s Major Crime Unit is investigating suspicious death on Beardy’s and Okemasis’ Cree Nation.

On Sunday evening, Rosthern RCMP received a report of a shooting on the Beardy’s and Okemasis’ Cree Nation.

Officers located an injured 22-year-old man on the road in the community and despite life-saving efforts, the man died.

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating and there will be an increased police presence in the community, but they say there is no threat to public safety.
