The Regina Police Service arrested two people after an attempted robbery on Monday.
Monday night at 10:00 p.m., a group of masked suspects arrived at a residence, were armed with a firearm and attempted to rob a man. The man fled into his residence and locked the door.
Police later located the suspects and performed a high-risk traffic stop leading to five people being arrested.
A search revealed a firearm and a substance believed to be methamphetamine. An investigation led to two people being charged.
Twenty-nine-year-old Lynden Bellegarde of Balcarres is charged with:
- Possession of a scheduled substance (methamphetamine)
- Armed Robbery Using a Restricted/Prohibited Firearm
Thirty-year-old Brett Bellegarde, of Balcarres, is charged with:
- Possession of Firearm/Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
Both made their first appearances in court today.
