A 15-year-old Regina youth is facing charges of allegedly displaying a picture of himself with a firearm on social media.

Friday afternoon, police received a report of a photo circulating on social media of a picture that allegedly showed the youth with a firearm at a school on the 5200 block of Rochdale Boulevard.

The student was located at the school, and arrested. A search was then conducted, leading to the finding of a replica weapon.

The youth is charged with carrying a concealed weapon and will be appear in provincial youth court on April 27.
