Sarah Jackson and Michael Gordon Jackson have been located by RCMP.
RCMP say that Sarah is safe and Michael was arrested without incident and remains in police custody.
Sarah was originally reported missing in January after Michael took her to an undisclosed location in November because he did not want her to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
“We can tell you that Vernon RCMP members were able to locate Sarah and Michael at a business in Vernon, B.C.,” said RCMP Sgt-Maj. Darryl Milo. “At which time Sarah was located safely and Michael was taken into custody.”
Milo said the father will be brought back to Saskatchewan to face charges and the girl will be reunited with her mother, Mariecar Jackson. She made an impassioned plea in recent days for her daughter’s safe return.
“Mariecar has asked for privacy at this time, as she understandably wants to take some time to reunite with Sarah,” Milo said.
Michael Gordon Jackson will face charges of abduction and breaching custody order. Anyone who may have helped him since the girl’s November disappearance could potentially be facing charges as well, Milo said.
“Investigators still continue to go over the evidence and if such time that changes, we’ll certainly advise,” Milo said.
