Regina man charged in connection to two 2021 robberies

One man has been charged in connection with two robberies that happened last year in Regina.

Twenty-one-year-old Billy Tosh of Regina was charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence.

The first robbery happened on April 3, 2021, when police were dispatched to a business in the 2100 block of Broad Street for a robbery report. Police learned that a male had entered the business earlier, carrying a wooden broom handle as a weapon. The male took merchandise and cash before fleeing out the front door.

Two days later, police were dispatched to a similar occurrence at a business in the 200 block of Victoria Avenue. This time, a male suspect entered the business with a crowbar in hand and demanded cash.

The male was wearing a surgical mask in both events, which concealed his features. Police were able to obtain video from both incidents, which showed that the suspect was of the same height and stature in both cases. Continued investigation into these cases led to police gathering further evidence to identify and arrest a 21-year-old male.

Tosh made his first appearance in Provincial Court on February 17.
