Dunstone beats Koe in outdoor curling skins game

The Saskatchewan weather wasn’t entirely cooperative, but it was good enough for the FROST Regina’s outdoor curling skins game.

The game, presented by 620 CKRM, was the first of its kind and featured Matt Dunstone and Kevin Koe facing off, with Dunstone beating Koe and winning $21,500.

“Being able to come out here, playing in this sort of atmosphere outside, something we’ve never done before,’ this is awesome,” said Dunstone. “We are happy, so many came out to celebrate the day with us, and we hope to do this again.”

Regina native and the lead for Kevin Koe Ben Hebert said it was awesome to come home and see all the support.

“There is not a lot of things anymore that I get to go to that are new,” he said. “It’s a veteran experience, and you’ve done it before, so you know what to expect, but I was a complete rookie out here, not knowing what was going on and how it was going to be, but it was super fun.”

Dunstone and Hebert added that the ice was exactly what you would expect playing curling outdoors.
