The Saskatchewan Government is reporting a 3 month record high for hospitalizations connected to COVID-19 for the province. At present time there are 342 people in hospital for COVID-19 related illness and 34 in provincial ICUs.
In recent press conferences Chief Medical Health Officer Saquib Shahab has acknowledged that hospitalization numbers will climb – as the number is a lagging indicator of COVID-19 cases in the province.
The provincial COVID-19 reporting dashboard also showed an increase of 1392 COVID-19 infections.
Among the new cases, 302 Saskatoon, 330 Regina, 129 in the south east, and 116 in the central east region.
2 additional COVID-19 related fatalities were also reported, bringing the provincial death toll to 987.
