Regina Police looking for assistance after collision sends pedestrian to hospital

The Regina Police Service is asking for the public’s help with information with a vehicle/pedestrian collision that resulted in one man being sent to the hospital with serious injuries.

Yesterday evening police were dispatched to the Walmart parking lot at 2150 Prince of Wales Drive for a report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

A preliminary investigation at the scene indicates a dark-coloured, blue or black, GMC four-door truck was travelling westbound from Westfair Road across Prince of Wales Drive onto the boulevard in the Walmart parking lot. A pedestrian was standing on the boulevard and was struck by the GMC truck. The GMC truck then continued westbound through the parking lot onto Quance Street, fleeing the scene.

The victim, a 51-year-old man, was transported to hospital by EMS with injuries described as serious.

This collision is still under investigation and no charges have been laid at this time.
