Shuffling within the higher ranks of the Saskatchewan Health Authority has the provincial opposition questioning the motives of the Saskatchewan government.

Raynelle Wilson, a former Sask Party candidate was recently named the Vice President of Enterprise Initiatives Support.

The role that is described as providing leadership and collaboration between the SHA, the Ministry of Health and other partners.

Provincial Opposition Leader Ryan Meili says that when the opposition heard the resignation of CEO Scott Livingstone, there was speculation of political interference. “The health minister denied any political interference at all when we discovered not only was there political interference, we now know exactly what that look like.”

There is no doubt from Meili that appointment was the final straw for Livingstone leading to his resignation this past November. “It appears that they tried to push they try to push Miss Wilson of Chief Operating Officer and that wasn’t possible, they invented out of the blue a new Vice President position for this long term political crony of the Sask. Party.”

The fact a new role was created for Wilson, is very concerning for Meili. “Especially from someone who doesn’t have qualifications to be in a leadership role in the SHA.”

Wilson was unsuccessful in the 2007 Provincial election , losing to NDP MLA John Nilson in Regina Lakeview.
