Agribition is back in Regina for the first time since 2019 on Monday, to kick off its 50th Anniversary show.
CEO Chris Lane says the 50th anniversary show is packed with features, including national cattle shows, jousting, rodeo, sword fighting and birds of prey displays.
“It’s really exciting to be back, it’s been too long since we’ve had an Agribition obviously since 2019,” Lane said. ” Obviously 2020 was a tough year, not only for us but for all events and this being the 50th show it’s a big deal especially for us and we hop for the entire province,” Lane said.
Livestock entries total over 2,500, including 1,200 purebred cattle.
“What’s interesting about the feedstock sector is that it continuously attracts interest and investment from all across the world,” Lane said. “Again, even with travel uncertainty around Covid, we’re seeing a couple-of-hundred international buyers register to be here, I think that’s because it’s important for business, when it is, they’ll always find a way to get here,” Lane added.
The rodeo, one of the most popular events will open on Wednesday.
