Monday afternoon house fire in Regina is a fatal one

A house fire in the city’s north end Monday afternoon has left one man dead.

Regina Fire says they were called to the home on the 600 block of Montague Street, which is just a couple of blocks from McKinley Avenue, just before 4 o’clock where they found a home fully engulfed in flames.

Once entry was made inside the house, the body of the 47-year-old man was found. A 24-year-old woman also inside managed to escape and was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation.

The cause of the blaze is not known at this time. Fire. police and the Coroner are all a part of the investigation.
