The Provincial Capital Commission (PCC) unveiled the first of two permament outdoor fitness stations in Regina’s Wascana Centre on Friday.

The first one located in Candy Cane park is now open for public use.

Minister Responsible for the PCC Don McMorris said increased accessibility is, and will be an important feature of these fitness stations.

“These will be fully accessible as a ramp of these 2×6’s so that wheelchairs will be able to come in here, it’s accessible because it’s not sand, because how tough would that be for a wheelchair, so this is really a great addition,” he said.

A second fitness station near the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre is expected to be completed in the spring of 2022.
