Police are investigating a fatal hit and run in Regina in the city’s northwest area.

Officers were called to the corner of Rochdale Boulevard and Cedar Meadow Drive Thursday for a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle while the driver fled the scene.

Witnesses indicated the male victim was crossing Rochdale Boulevard heading north when an SUV turned left from Cedar Meadow Drive, hitting the 70-year-old man attempting to cross the street.

EMS transported the man to hospital, where he was later declared dead.

Police have located and seized the suspect vehicle.
