Regina-based FCC provides $1.5-million to 88 rural projects in Canada

Regina-based Farm Credit Canada is contributing $1.5-million to 88 rural community group projects this year.

The FCC vice president of operations for Saskatchewan, Shannon Weatherall, says community improvement projects receive between $5,000 and $25,000 across Canada.

In Saskatchewan, she says there were 11 projects this year.

For example, the funds support fire fighting equipment in Watrous and the skating rink in Willow Bunch.

The funds are distributed in communities with populations below 150,000.

The program application re-opens next March.
