New COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan still high but dropping

The province is reporting 246 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday to go along with five more deaths.  It is the fourth straight day the number has gone down.

Of the 246, 184 are in people who have not been vaccinated including 76 in the 0-11 demographic who can’t be vaccinated due to their age.

The new cases are located in the Far North West (4), Far North East (4), North West (37), North Central (26), North East (1), Saskatoon (63), Central West (12), Central East (18), Regina (36), South West (4), South Central (2) and South East (25) zones and 14 new cases have pending residence information.

There are 323 people in hpspital including 82 in the ICU.  238 of those patients were not fully vaccinated. Three people that had been in the ICU have now been transferred to Ontario.

There were 3,079 vaccines handed out Tuesday. 1,802 of them went to people who have now had their first shot.
