The federal government is cracking down on COVID-19 vaccinations for federal public servants.
Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, says those in core public administration must be fully vaccinated by October 29.
“That includes the RCMP, Correctional Services of Canada, the Canada Border Services Agency, and many others,” she said.
The government is also mandating vaccinations for anyone travelling by air or rail in Canada for anyone 12 and older, testing will no longer be an option.
“There will be a short period where people are in the process of getting vaccinated can show a negative COVID-19 test,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Wednesday morning. “By the end of November though, if you’re 12 or older and want to fly or take the train, you’ll have to be fully vaccinated,” Trudeau added.
Trudeau also says a vaccination passport for international travelers is on the way.
