Staff vaccination policy to be developed by Regina Public Schools

Trustees with the Regina Public School Division have voted 6-1 to develop a staff vaccination policy.
Now that a motion has been passed, wording of the policy now needs to be done which spokesperson Terry Lazarou says shouldn’t take long.
“Over the next few weeks, the administrative procedure will be drafted.” Lazarou said. “The board has endorsed this so we are going ahead with it, but the details will take some time, but not a very long time. I am guessing a couple of weeks.
The policy would be in effect for everyone ranging from bus drivers to janitorial staff to interns. Students would be exempt.
The board also says the policy will not mandate vaccines and that all staff will have options to provide negative tests if they so choose
Lazarou could not say how many employees are fully vaccinated already
The Saskatchewan School Boards Association has also indicated each of its school divisions are discussing a staff vaccination policy as well.
