A search for a non-verbal seven-year-old girl on the Ochapawace First Nation ended successfully Monday morning, after she was found about a mile away from home.

Whitewood Fire Department Deputy Chief Chris Ashfield, says it was impressive to see so many people come together to find the girl.

“You couldn’t even get down the roads there was so many vehicles backed up along them and parked on the side as volunteers were searching,” he said. “It was quite impressive to see how everyone and everything came together,” Ashfield added.

The girl was located at 5:00 a.m. Monday morning, after leaving her home around 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening.

Saskatoon Police even deployed their air support unit to assist with the search.
