Provincial COVID-19 death total increases by 10 to 682

It’s another dark day on the COVID-19 front in Saskatchewan.

The province says there were 10 deaths bringing the provincial total to 682 with hospitalizations now well over 300 as there is a record-high 311 people needing care across the province due to the virus with 65 of those people in the ICU.

There are 449 new cases being reported on Tuesday.  Of those 449, 373 are in people that are not vaccinated including 103 in the 0-11 age group who can not be vaccinated at this time.

The new cases are located in the Far North West (20), Far North Central (2), Far North East (23), North West (72), North Central (38), North East (10), Saskatoon (103), Central West (11), Central East (15), Regina (48), South West (22), South Central (27) and South East (25) zones and 33 new cases have pending residence information.  The active case count has dropped by 54 meaning there are 4,734 active cases in the province.

Only 648 vaccines were handed out Monday. Of those 648, 359 were first doses.
