“Rescue on the Prairies” raises over $427,000 for STARS Air Ambulance

STARS Air Ambulance raised over $427,000 at their annual “Rescue on the Prairies” fundraiser.

The fundraiser entailed four business leaders being stranded in a remote location outside Regina, with the individuals needing to raise $50,000 to secure their “rescue” and return to civilization.

Each person, and a STARS crew partner participated in a series of challenges including medical and aviation scenarios, and a timed scavenger hunt. Winners of the challenges received sponsored cash prizes to go towards their individual fundraising totals.

The annual event has become the organization’s largest one-day fundraisers, having raised more than $2.7 million in six years. The 2020 edition got cancelled due to the pandemic.
