Moose Jaw city councillor wants to become mayor

A current member of Moose Jaw City Council has become the first person to announce their candidacy for mayor.

Crystal Froese is in her second term as a councillor and says if named mayor November 3, she would actively pursue economic opportunities that fit the city’s vision while working closely with government partners.

She adds one of her top priorities is community safety. She feels that has been impacted due to drug issues and rising crime rates.

People in Moose Jaw need to declare a new mayor after Fraser Tolmie stepped down to run for the Conservatives in the Moose Jaw-Lanigan-Lake Centre riding in Monday’s federal election.

Those wishing to run have until September 29 to submit their paperwork
