SaskPower conducting work on major project north of Regina

A major SaskPower project north of Regina is now underway.

A Transmission Line Project from Condie to EVRAZ is underway, seeing 10 kilometers of power line being built north of Regina in a move the Crown Corporation says will help with the growing power needs in the area.

Thursday’s work will see a helicopter used to carry and place conductor wire on power line structures between McCarthy Boulevard and Pinkie Road, along Armour Road, which is closed off to traffic at this time.

On Friday, SaskPower is advising people in the area they may hear controlled explosions that sound like fireworks throughout the day, which will be done to help fuse cables together.

The project itself will be completed in the fall.
