Four male teenagers facing charges in connection to firearms and weapons incident

Regina Police have arrested four teenaged men in connection to a firearms and weapons incident that took place near the Coronation Park neighborhood.

Police were first called to the 2700 block of 5th Ave. early Tuesday morning for a group of men pointing a firearm. A similar call was also made from the 1200 block of Angus Street.

According to initial reports, the group had two firearms and a machete. Police also observed a broken window on the 3000 block of 5th Ave.

A number of officers were called to the area to assist with the search, and were able to find the four suspects. An improvised firearm, a bladed weapon and a concealed baseball bat were recovered in the arrest.

A 15-year-old youth who cannot be named faces the following charges:

  • Possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace,
  • Carrying a concealed weapon,
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
  • Assault with a weapon.

The 15-year-old suspect made his first court appearance in Youth Court on Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, two 17-year-old’s are also facing charges. One of the suspects faces the following:

  • Carrying a concealed weapon (wrist-mounted knives),
  • Mischief under $5,000.

The other 17-year-old faces similar charges:

  • Carrying a concealed weapon (baseball bat),
  • Mischief under $5,000.

Regina resident 18-year-old Dante Linklater is charged with the following:

  • Obstruct peace officer,
  • Breach of undertaking,
  • Mischief under $5,000.

Both 17-year-old’s and Linklater will appear in court October 19, with the accused young offenders appearing in Youth Court, and Linklater appearing in Provincial Court.
